It’s not that Farah Khan hosts a party every day but when she does, the entire tinsel town gathers to have a gala time. The occasion was Farah’s 50th birthday, and the fraternity was invited at her residence for a party to remember. Whether it is her unpretentious choice of 80s and 90s music that played at the night, or the scrumptious Indian food, the event was nothing less than entertaining.
Love and charm filled the venue as adorable star couples Abhi-Ash and Ranveer-Deepika danced on tracks such as “I’m a Disco Dancer” and “Rang Barse”. With the crème de la crème attending the bash, fashion was definitely one of the highlights of the night.
Here are the hits-and-the-misses at Farah Khan’s Birthday night.
1) Sonam Kapoor
Sonam attended the party in a Stella McCartney black lace dress. Featuring not two but three straps, and that lace-only hemline, the dress seemed like there it has too much happening; it looked like a mess of cloth. Her ankle strap heels were okay, and the fringed handbag looked fab but wasted on that dress. It’s okay, Sonam, even the ‘It’ girls are human and bound to err.
2) Deepika Padukone
DP on the other hand looked stunning in a rather simple avatar. A fuss-free powder blue Burberry dress, nude Saint Laurent sling and Louboutins made her look worth everyone’s envy. Perfectly styled tresses and red statement lips added glamour to her look. We are certain, even Ranveer couldn’t stop admiring his belle!
3) Kangana Ranaut
The style ‘Queen’ came suited up in Gucci. Black polka dot shirt made quite a statement too. Black bag and black pumps seemed like two peas in a pod. And if anything comes close to perfection would be those dramatic, wild curls!
4) Katrina Kaif
Doesn’t she look gorgeous in just about anything she wears? A pair of white distressed denims and white tank is all she took to look stunning at the party. And ofcourse, those Jimmy Choos!
5) Sushmita Sen
Fit as a fiddle all her life, Sushmita’s beauty is one of the classics that never wither with time. Sush went all black for the night in black sheer top, leather pants and boots. However the leather-on-leather is diminished the lines of distinction; stilettos would have worked better. The gold shoulder bag didn’t really make any difference; how about a rivet black oversized clutch? That belt, disappear, now!
6) Malaika Arora Khan
Dressed in an Alice + Olivia midnight blue number, Malaika Arora Khan made a sparkling appearance. However, with a clutch and a pair of heels that sparkled too, don’t you feel that’s too much of sparkle? Matt Charcoal or graphite hued heels would have helped keep focus on her dress.
7) Lara Dutta
The former Miss Universe looked elegant and classy in a BCBG peplum dress. We love the subtle way that the dress shimmers! Lara balanced the shine with BCBG strappy heels.
