Lakme Fashion Week Winter/festive 2013 kick started with a tinge of traditional glamour. The “Fashion Badshah of Bollywood Couture” Manish Malhotra presented his collection ‘Reflections’ which had gorgeous synergy with Indian traditions, cultures, rituals and vibrant color spectrum for the fusion line.
This must watch collection was high on color, mirror work embellishments and low back-cuts. It brought a mixture of old and new through the idea of vibrant hues of Rajasthan and Kutch, thread-work and customized zari work. Manish also showcased the stylish ghagra-pant – a fusion of the Sharara and classic pant, which will give some strong alternatives to lehengas. Highlighting the “Ghagra pants and Koti tops”, this scintillating collection was a perfect blend of traditional Indian heritage with a spark of youthfulness.

The fabric selection by Manish was varied with tulle, chiffon, georgette, pure/raw silk, velvet, textured fabrics mixed and matched or contrasted perfectly, to create a great fashion statement.

If there is any way to open a Winter Festive Fashion Week with a strong scent of celebration, then Manish Malhotra’s was deemed as the perfect one for it, and rightly so as he reflected that WOW in everyone who attended the show.
