The summer-appropriate Finale collection by Namrata Joshipura at Lakme Fashion Week this year comprised boatloads of acidic hues, sequined glamor and soft versatile creations. Following the “Pop-Tints” theme by Lakme Absolute, Namrata surprised the audience with a zesty vibrant collection full of resort essentials such as colored blazers with narrow lapels, short shorts, swimwear, drop-waist dresses, jumpsuits, sheaths, lycra tops, gowns and jumpsuits for easy comfort. The candy colors looked especially gorgeous in her choice of sheer fabrics such as lace and organza, the beauty of which was further enhanced by the contrast lining under the skirts, pants and dresses. Then there is embroidered neoprene which is as contemporary as it gets. 3D embellishment and rose motifs were also seen on bustiers, skirts and dresses in contrasting tints. Towards the end of the show, Namrata injected a dose of disco to the collection with shimmering gold, silver and orange ensembles. The audience also seemed to take great delight in the defiantly glam spiked Trishuli shoes paired with the outfits along with space-age fluorescent sunglasses and metallic décor on the models’s foreheads, that added a rocker vibe to the show.
Closing the show was the ever-so-stunning Kareena Kapoor, the face of Lakme Absolute, in a shimmering pop-pink palazzo pant-suit teamed with a matching shirt.
