Superstar, model, singer and of course, former Miss World Priyanka Chopra is the next GUESS girl. Yes, our very own desi girl is now the face of global fashion brand, Guess worldwide. Chopra, who did the country proud yet again is also the brand’s first ever Indian model.

The stunning black and white Holiday campaign, shot by Bryan Adams, will premiere in the December issues of Harper’s BazaarNylonPaperMarie ClareElle, and WSJ Magazine. Featuring Chopra sporting Guess’ signature teased hair, cat eyeliner and sexy clothes in a Mediterranean villa, the campaign is an instant classic, bringing to mind the ads of Claudia Schiffer and Anna Nicole Smith, Chopra’s predecessors.

“I’m their first brown model,” she told WWD. “Guess pictures are so iconic. They show women as beautiful, feminine, powerful, and yet candid. But being the next Guess girl was something that I would have never thought of, but when I met Paul [Marciano, co-founder of Guess], he was like, ‘You’re it. It has to be you.’” “The vibe was like a young Sophia Loren,” Chopra explained. “I wanted to play characters, and I wanted to be in the mood. I wanted every picture to speak of a story.” When asked whether she was nervous about taking on a Western market as a musician-cum-actress-cum-model, Chopra responded, “I’m a global citizen, and that’s what most people are today. And I don’t want to have to change who I am to try and fit in or cater to a certain audience. Guess is aspirational, inspirational and so relatable to women from across the world and I think this is a remarkable opportunity, which in its own way, erases boundaries and makes the world a smaller place. When you look good, you feel great…and to me, that’s what Paul Marciano captured in these pictures and what Guess is all about”
