If you are a traveler, an explorer but with an Indian heart, Neha Agarwal’s collection will create quite a few stirs in your aesthetic sensibilities. ‘From Russia, with Love’ that tells the tale of two vastly diverse cultures will enthrall the audiences at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015.
Silhouettes and motifs inspired from Russia, yet crafted in a mélange of Indian fabrics and techniques form the crux of Neha Agarwal’s collection. As intriguing as it may seem, it looks effortless to carry off. While there is time for the collection to unveil, we got a sneak peek at the fittings, and we are still in awe of the summer hues used in crafting this gorgeous collection.
Usage of intricate hand-embroidered appliqués on georgette, ahimsa, dupion, pure mal, tussar and pattu silk on Russian inspired artwork makes this array of designs one of a kind.
The collection takes cues from the form-fitting fashion of early 1900s Russia. Conspicuous dresses and bamboo denim jackets with cape collars, adorned with cross-stitch detailing and floral embroidery; circular dresses with hand block printed motifs and denim crop tops with printed Russian dolls and flared jumpsuits in pure silk with a denim bodice and embroidered scalloped sleeves are just some of the features that makes this assortment far from run-of-the-mill.
